Windfall Youth Companies provide a supportive, comfortable, and challenging environment for youth to develop dance technique, choreography, and performance skills. The Companies also offer a healthy and safe setting for youth to explore, through movement, a range of topics, while developing such life skills as self-esteem, positive attitude and teamwork.
See class schedule for times and tuition.
Youth Company Orientation is held on the first Saturday of each Windfall
School of Dance class session. Following orientation, all participants are
invited to join one of the three youth companies.
The Fall semester kicks off the season with rehearsals for their spring
performance. The companies will hold an informal studio concert for friends
and family at the end of the fall semester.
During the Spring semester, the companies will begin working on new pieces
while reviewing those learned in the fall. The semester will end with the
production of the annual Windfall Youth Show.
The Summer semester focuses on student chorography. Students will participate
in creative movement and choreography workshops. Dancers in all three companies
may choreograph. Members of Youth Company III will organize, direct, and
produce a studio concert in late summer, under supervision of the Youth
Director. Other members will assist with elements related to show production,
such as costuming and advertising.
Company members will also perform at one community outreach event per semester such as Bloomington Multicultural Festival, Bell Trace, and Girls, Inc.
